Job Title: RN Surgery Profession: RN Surgery Specialty: RN Surgery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 AM - 03:30 PM Hours per Shift: 8.75 hours Experience: Minimum years of experience required License: Required RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Experience with Davinci XI. Ability to scrub and circulate for posterior eye and eye trauma. Description: We are seeking an RN to join our surgical team. The primary base will be a 7-room unit. Floating may be required to the main OR when necessary. The typical load includes general surgeries such as hernias, appendectomies, cholecystectomies, Nissen fundoplications, PEG tubes, and GI procedures. Colorectal procedures include open and laparoscopic bowel resections. Gynecological surgeries involve oncological and benign open, laparoscopic, and robotic procedures, including D&C, hysteroscopy, LEEP, and tubal ligation. Urological procedures will include cystoscopy, stent placements, TURBT, TURP, percutaneous nephrolithotomy, and both open and laparoscopic nephrectomies and cystectomies. Experience with gender affirmation surgeries, including phalloplasty, is encouraged. Breast surgeries may involve biopsies and mastectomies with lymph node procedures and reconstruction. Eye procedures occur three times a month, including plastics, cataracts, and vitrectomies. Assisting with brachytherapy device insertion is expected, primarily performed by the radiation oncology team. Plastic surgeries are usually in conjunction with breast or gender affirmation procedures. Uro-Gyn procedures will include sling placements and anterior-posterior repairs. Robotic surgeries are mainly in urology and gynecology, with some bariatric surgeries. The unit operates Monday through Friday and often finishes by 7-8 PM. If shifts end early, floating to the main OR will occur to complete the day. The main OR covers various other specialties, including orthopedic, vascular, ENT, general oncology, transplant, neuro, thoracic, cardiac, and trauma surgeries. Obligations include two weekend call shifts and six to eleven AM to seven forty-five PM shifts per six-week schedule.
