Schedule: 40 Hours per Week Position Summary The Interventional
Radiology Technologist works under the supervision of a Radiologist
and is responsible for performing invasive diagnostic and
interventional imaging procedures. This role supports the
evaluation and treatment of pathological conditions while ensuring
patient safety, image quality, and compliance with established
clinical protocols. Key Responsibilities /t - /t Explain procedures
to patients and prepare them for examinations. /t /t - /t Collect
and review patient medical history as required. /t /t - /t Prepare
and administer prescribed contrast media, medications, and IV
solutions. /t /t - /t Review clinical data and imaging
requisitions; analyze patient anatomy and prepare equipment
according to protocol. /t /t - /t Assist the Radiologist during
complex interventional and invasive diagnostic procedures. /t /t -
/t Prepare and maintain sterile fields, imaging equipment,
physiological monitors, and pressure injectors. /t /t - /t Ensure
adequate availability, proper storage, and replenishment of
procedural supplies such as needles and catheters. /t /t - /t
Monitor and assess patient condition before, during, and after
procedures. /t /t - /t Operate imaging equipment to obtain accurate
diagnostic images. /t /t - /t Adhere to radiation safety standards
and ALARA principles, including patient shielding and dose
optimization. /t /t - /t Manage PACS workflows by resolving image
issues and ensuring high-quality image delivery. /t /t - /t
Complete study documentation and indexing in the Radiology
Information System (RIS). /t /t - /t Review and confirm imaging
protocols with the Radiologist prior to performing studies. /t /t -
/t Perform quality assurance procedures and maintain accurate
documentation for clinical and billing purposes. /t /t - /t
Demonstrate professional standards of excellence, including
effective communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care
(AIDET). /t /t - /t Assist with training and mentoring of new staff
or students as assigned. /t /t - /t Exercise independent judgment
in imaging techniques, patient positioning, and safety practices.
/t /t - /t Perform additional duties in accordance with
departmental policies and procedures. /t Education Requirements /t
- /t High School Diploma or GED required /t /t - /t Ongoing
completion of required continuing medical education (CME) hours /t
Certification & Licensure /t - /t Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
– Healthcare Provider certification required /t /t - /t Active ARRT
registration with advanced certification in one of the following:
