Custom Culinary.----Purpose of the Position--To efficiently
coordinate the daily shift activities of all production and
processing areas of the facility.--Major Duties & Responsibilities
--Performs supervisory responsibilities such as interviewing,
hiring and training employees, planning/assigning/directing work
tasks, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining
employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.Trains new
employees on department procedures, job tasks and work
instructions.Ensures all GMP's and safety rules are being followed
according to company policy.Responsible for assuring all products
are manufactured and distributed to meet Regulatory, Legal, Food
Safety & Quality standards as well as customer
specifications.Responsible for executing the daily production
schedule by coordinating manufacturing activities and labor
efficiently.This includes prep activities for upcoming products,
MSS and sanitation tasks, CIP's and other cleaning tasks
needed.Strong floor presence ( 60% of shift) is necessary in this
role to ensure product flow and activities run smoothly.It is
important to perform random walk-throughs on the floor to monitor
performance, safety, quality and facility security.Monitors
productivity by ensuring efficient start-up and changeover times in
each of the processing rooms.Manages waste and recyclable flow at
the facility.This includes collection of materials and ensuring
employees are placing items in correct containers.Responsible for
coordinating pick-ups for any containers or trash
compactor.Coordinates and manages employee labor hours worked and
scheduled time off through Dayforce time clock software.Collaborate
with the maintenance or engineering departments on equipment or
process issues to prevent downtime.Creates work orders as
necessary.Ensure equipment and processing rooms are cleaned
effectively after sanitation activities are completed.Creates a
platform for effective communication between shift changes with
employees and other supervisors.Monitors production and sanitation
supplies and is responsible to replenish when inventory is
low.Creates a teamwork environment with employees and leads by
example.Participates in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) program
whenever a production batch doesn't meet specification.This
includes completing the proper forms and conducting an
investigation to gather all necessary facts and data.Participates
in the Griffith Continuous Improvement (GCI) program of generating
cost saving ideas or opportunities.This includes assisting with
writing a summary, obtaining vendor quotes and preparing a cost
justification analysis.--Assists Plant Manager with controlling
costs and expenses.Directly supervises 10-20 hourly employees
working in the staging, cooking, filling, packing and sanitation
areas of the plant.OTIF and CFR Service Levels, Capacity
Utilization, Safety & Quality metrics, GCI Targets, Cost Mfg
$/lb.Problem Solving/Decision Making:Describe the most difficult or
challenging problems that must be resolved.Identify the types of
decisions the incumbent will be allowed to make on his/her
own.Proactively communicate production issues to appropriate
internal resources and helps coordinate solutions.Coaches,
motivates and develops workers to be successful in their assigned
roles.Must be able to provide disciplinary action whenever
necessary with a corrective action plan.Interprets company policies
to workers and enforces safety and quality policies.Assists with
investigation and satisfactory disposition of internal issues,
customer complaints and audit findings.Other duties as
assigned.--Working Relationships:--Internal--Reports to the Plant
Manager.Directly supervises 10-20 hourly employees within Staging,
Cooking, Filling, Packing and Sanitation.Ability to work
harmoniously with management and other departments such
as:marketing, sales, warehousing, planning, maintenance, quality,
HR, R&D, etc.--External--Frequent interaction with maintenance
contractors, waste and recycling service providers, chemical
suppliers, temporary staffing agencies, outside warehouses and
uniform provider.--Education and/or Experience--High school diploma
required; Bachelor's degree preferred in operations management or
business.5+ years of production or operations experience.3+ years
of experience in a supervisory or leadership role in the
manufacturing industry.Food manufacturing with liquid processes
preferred.--Language Skills--Ability to read and comprehend
instructions, short correspondence, and memos.Excellent oral and
written communication skills. Ability to communicate with
individuals and small groups. Ability to read, write and speak
English.------Mathematical Skills--Ability to add, subtract,
multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers,
common fractions, and decimals.Ability to calculate percentages,
proportions, and apply basic concepts of algebra.Ability to
calculate and understand business indices and interpret
graphs.------Reasoning Ability--Ability to apply common sense
understanding to carry out detailed oral or written instructions.
Ability to analyze and solve problems.--Computer Skills--Proficient
in MS Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point.Experience using ERP
systems such as SAP or DAX.Ability to conduct training using
Alchemy Manager.--Other Qualifications--Must be able to complete
companys forklift certification program to operate an electric
pallet jack, stand-up forklift and other PIE equipment
necessary.--Work Environment--Describe the working conditions
related to the job including physical requirements, equipment used,
time constraints, public contact, etc.--Physical
Requirements--While performing the duties of this job, the employee
is frequently required to sit, stand and walk to communicate and
listen effectively.This will require both office and plant floor
environments.The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to
50 pounds.The employee will occasionally need to operate and drive
a forklift or electronic pallet jack to transport materials or
goods.------Environmental Concerns--While performing the duties of
this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold temperatures
