Job Description:
The Portage-Geauga County Juvenile Detention Center is seeking a
full-time maintenance worker responsible for maintaining the
facility and grounds throughout various on-site locations.
Maintains an on-call 24-hour status for emergencies. Preferred
knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical procedures.
Regularly assigned duties to include: Maintaining a safe and secure
environment through regular inspection and maintenance of facility
and grounds to ensure proper operation of plumbing fixtures, HVAC,
appliances, doors, locks, and related security equipment.
Performing various maintenance tasks, including general electrical
and plumbing repairs, painting, stripping and waxing floors, etc.
Coordinating advanced repairs with Portage County Maintenance
and/or selected contractors. Completing custodial and housekeeping
tasks. Performing groundskeeping, including but not limited to
mowing lawns, laying mulch, pulling weeds, and trimming hedges.
Performing snow removal, including plowing, snow blowing,
shoveling, and salting parking lots and sidewalks.
